I can only say that 2 years have slipped by, and what I have learned seems to have been absorbed in time as if no time has passed.
I held onto sharing anything until I realized anything of value, - this is hard when in the most trivial sense all things I've encountered and learned has been of value. I believe my trigger event to update has been my experience in "true" lucid dreams. I heard that this has been a fleeting event for some, and until I encountered it... any effort to try and describe the possibility of carrying consciousness into an unconscious realm such as a REM sleep could not have been possible. I was given the opportunity to experience it first had almost 1.5 months ago (with extensive research + practice) I can only describe the experience as one of the most profound and empowering experience's in my life to-date.
I am looking to expand and further develop my spiritual awareness as it has many practical benefits in both my personal and professional development.

Simply Allowing
I had written recently that I encountered some sort of obstacle to precieving the observed, and the observer as suggested by various respected teachers / teachings. I've experienced a most tremdenous sensation that I can not really do any justice with trying to explain with words... It was fleating as if a glimpse to something beyond the confines of day-to-day... What a tremendous feeling of enormoity. I had a tremendous sense of warmth, fulfillment... As I looked out the window at a nearby tree during this state, I first saw myself looking at the tree, then I saw not only the tree, but the person (me) and the tree... Then I experienced a sense of non separation of me (observer / observed) and the tree (observed) almost a 3 diminisional perspective but then flipped into a fourth perspective (only way to try to clinically breakdown the process)... It was all one... interconnected without separatness, I carried this momentary preception to other objects and people around me, there was no separation but all relative to my own presence.
The only way I can try to sumarize this experience is to relate it to an astronaut who is looking down from orbit and sees earth in it's entirty. but even that wouldn't describe it correctly as the astronaut would see the planet and other stars and have a connectedness to everything he observed (the vastness is beyond words).
I found the mindset overwhelming when I tried to explain / rationalize the expereince, I found the mind close up as this rationalization happened also.

The day-to-day has taken over
This posting is not about some miraculous or euphoric experience about my research or observations, instead it is intended to highlight the complete opposite. I seem to be getting caught up in the day-to-day... Work, meetings, appointments, deadlines. I need to find a mechanism to re-balance, or center the mind. - Perhaps the various teachings help provide discipline, strategies to do just that? Perhaps through experience and past meditation teaching of others who have struggled for this centering balance, that I can learn to incorporate those techniques in my day-to-day. I will not exclude any technique, and will observe the various methods to see if one may be more effective, sustainable, and offers flexibility for practical application.

A very interesting observation - Sleep pattern
I needed to post this, I have never experienced a more relaxed and interesting sleep cycle as I did last night. I woke up this morning with the same alertness as when I was sleeping (or should I say, I slept with the same alertness as when I was awake).
I have been reviewing evidence based research regarding the pineal gland activiation - this is a very powerful gland in the human body... According to some research; Mayo clinic etc... the active ingredient produced by this gland is Melatonin, which could responsible for such things a possible cures circulation, ageing, sleep disorders the list seems endless. Accordingly the position of most papers is that "more research is required" before any final findings of the benefits can be established, rightfully so.
I decided to purchase Melatonin 10 mg capsules and tried one before bed to see if my sleep could be improved. I did not experience the negative effects as some people had listed within various reviews, I was not groggy, nor had vivid nightmares. What my experience was "alertness" I could either choose to sleep or stay awake, I woke up on occasion during my sleep cycle alert, however what was most interesting was the ability to dream directly from this alert state, and continue the same dream. I was able to rationalize my dream state with the same witnessing presence as I mentioned in my earlier post for looking into the mirror.
At the end of my sleep cycle, I made a conscious decision to end it, and the same silence and witnessing presence carried over. Today's activities and thoughts have begun filling my thoughts (planned activities, meetings etc...) but what a sense of silence, what a sense of awareness... I just wanted to share while I was still able to describe it. Don't mistake my comments / observations, I know I'm awake as I knew I was sleeping / dreaming but it was the ability to know that I was dreaming is the main point of the post this morning.

Basic step in understanding of higher consciousness
I want to share something directly with readers who may be seeking higher consciousness, I am not saying that I have found it, or you will from doing this practical application... but I think you may be interested, or at least hopefully raise some inquiry if there is a willingness to have an open mind.
Step 1
If you are understand and are able to meditate try it in front of a mirror, once there is a centering state open your eyes and see the body which is in front of you, - realize that "you" are not the body, but it is only a component of your consciousness (the platform for which you are able to witness the body that houses your consciousness aka soul who is able to look into the mirror and see the body as no different from objects reflected in the mirror).
Step 2
Now ask the witnessing presence who / what is able to realize the witness?
This might spark further inquiry, and provide the catalyst for investigation ... Maybe not, one thing for sure don't limit yourself in your investigation or stop your search by having someone tell you they have all the answers - no human can fully explain or have all the answers - if they claim they do - run..higher consciousness is relative to the person and condition

Update Jan 31 - continued journey
I am posting a quick update - my sleep, appetite and overall disposition is affected. I sometimes see me as only part of the environment I am in, it is strange as I see the body that stores me as no different than other things around me. This perspective is very disconnected from the body, however very connected to something very much more. I will not try to explain it, but just sense it and let the moments become fluid.
I still continue with practices of Pineal gland activation, I am able to find a sense of grounding within the core of my body - within the stomach region and just below my belly button (very interesting), with some relax breathing exercises, and a very traditional approach of clearing the mind, - perceiving my eyes as made of rock, whereby no thoughts can penetrate, when a thought appears, then I refocus as if I am looking inside a rock..
I don't know what more to write or explain, and I apologize if my update seems somewhat awkward, not descriptive enough, but that is all that can be said about this matter...
